NEWS & EVENTS

Sundays begin with Sunday School from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Over the course of the year, the class takes up a variety of topics, with differing topics being taught by differing members of the class. This coming Sunday, May 5, Ruskin Falls will be leading the class in a concluding consideration of the subject we’ve been discussing over the past two months, namely the place and role of the land in the biblical account of God’s covenant with the children of Israel. (Note from Ruskin: Last Sunday was intended to be our “concluding” consideration of this topic, but we didn’t get that far; hopefully we’ll manage to do so this coming Sunday!)

Worship begins at 10:45 a.m.  You can access a livestream of the service by clicking the link above, or at the YouTube page. A video of each Sunday’s worship service will remain accessible on the church website throughout the week. Feel free to contact the church office for more details. We would delight in having you join us in-person!

Ruskin Falls’ sermon text this Sunday, May 5, will be Matthew 5:43-48.

The sack-lunch gathering of the Cinephiles, a cinema-loving group, will be Thursday, May 16 from 11:00a.m. to 1:00p.m. They will be watching Freud’s Last Session (2023). Freud invites iconic author C.S. Lewis to debate the existence of God. And his unique relationship with his daughter, and Lewis' unconventional relationship with his best friend's mother. Bring your lunch and join in the fun, all are welcome.

In October 2021, Ruskin published a book of sermons entitled, Metanoia and Other Sermons. The book can be ordered through Amazon, Barnes and Noble, or Wordsworth. You can find more information about the book at this link: Metanoia and Other Sermons

Unless otherwise designated, money given to our church is placed in what we call the General Fund, through which we cover our regular operating and mission expenses. We also have two special funds through which we fund our work. They are: the Audie Lee Jones Ministry Fund, for helping people in financial crisis toward courage, hope, and new opportunity; and the Building Fund, for tending to our building, grounds, and furnishings beyond regular upkeep and maintenance. To donate to these special funds, simply note on your check or envelope the fund you are giving to or you can donate through our website (click the “Donations” button).
